I set an alarm last night just for the hell of it to see how loud it was. Now the alarm will not shut off. When it went off there was no indication on the screen. I heard the beep & the green power light was flashing. I went to the alarm settings unchecked the box for the alarm that I set & hit OK. It is still going off. I soft rest my axim & turned if off . Doing that didn't help matters. Put it in the cradle to synch the stupid thing hoping that might do something what I am not sure. Sure, that did something but didn't have the desired effect. I received two error messages pertaining to device.exe & shell32.exe. The alarm at this point did quit going off but after tuning it off & back on again guess what? The alarm is going off again. Has anyone else had this issue. I have been to other sites & the consensus is to do a hard reset.

I have everything backed-up but can I restore my back-up after I dump the thing? I used the wm5 back-up utility to do the back-up.

Try setting the clock back and then resetting the clock to the correct time/date. Your alarm will set off again. Now make sure you click the lower left soft button (notification).

You probably didn't get to the softbutton in time. If you don't click the "notification" softbutton, the ppc will keep notifiying you until you do. Which of course is a problem since the softbutton is now gone.

If that doesn't solve the problem, you can fix the notification error by using MemMaid or Pocket Mechanic. They're not free programs, but there is a free trial period -- long enough for you to solve your problem hopefully.
