HELP Activesync problem

Dear all
My axim x51v has developed a glitch.
It no longer sync with my desktop pc when I connect it via the USB cradle.
Activesync seems to detect the connection but fails to connect.
I note that if I soft reset the axim while it is still switched on in the cradle then the connection will be established and everything begins to work.
This has happened suddenly. Everything was fine until now.
Your thought?
Thanks
Lang

#1..try a different usb port.

#2..delete your profile off the pc's active sync.

#3..if #2 doesn't work then try uninstall active sync and reinstall.

Mmmm....

Before deleting anything on your pc or hard resets, try:
  • As cchiang12 indicates, check the USB connection and use a primary port not a hub
  • Check that you have plenty of memory on the device and the pc
  • If your firewall updates automatically, check that the permissions for AS have not been changed.
  • Check that you have not changed your Regional Settings on the Axim
  • Try a soft reset on the Axim before you cradle the device
You indicate that when you establish a connection, everything syncs - can you back up? It sounds as if AS is hanging on the pda or some other software is not closing properly: if you can back up, do so and then hard reset the device (AS seems to be ok on the pc) and reinstall your applications one-by-one (checking to make sure that you can sync between each install).

You can use the backup to restore the pda if necessary.

This has happened to me also. I am using an X51V.

t started not being able to sync, which I could fix by recradleing the PPC or doing a soft reset. Then it became more difficult - I wiould reboot my PPC and my desktop. Then I would get the "Cannot Connect to Windows Mobile" message and I did everyting in the diagnostic box that displayed (I'm running AS 4.5 Beta).

I have uninstalled AS 4.5 and reinstalled 4.2 - No help. Now I can't get it to sync at all.

I have hard reset my PPC - still no help.

My X30h still syncs because it does not use the USB/TCP connection.

I hope someone out there has the answer.
