As long as your PPC works, why mess with it. Don't try.

i have to disagree rumble 291 ive found xp far more stable than vista at time of speaking.I have a brend new dual coe duo pc with 64 bit vista and ive had blue screen of death a few times already for no apparent reason,so im sticking with xp.Hopefully six mths to a yr it will be far better.

haha are you serouis. You do know if you install any system mointoring software on XP because the drviers arent signed it makes XP unstable anything with un-signed drivers makes windows unstable that is why in Vista they made it so you cant install un-signed drivers easy. XP is a heap of shit since it came out there has been soo much wrong with it Vista is hell alot more stable the BSODs only accur in vista when you have OC'ed hardware and drivers that arent designed for your PC in XP you get BSOD for inserting a flash drive ive had XP 32, XP 64 bit which i have atm and its shite, i have vista ultimate on my laptop. On the BSOD it will tell you whats wrong. Go and play BF2 for a few months and if it dont crash freeze its a miracle. You obv havent unstood the full potential of vista being alot better network support, driver support, game support, stable and faster. I have used XP, Vista and linux around the same time and i found linux to be the most stable then vista then XP. I can see that you think its better, it is at first alot faster than Vista but a few months later its gone slow and your getting application errors.

yes i am serious my pc is brand new with all the apropriate drivers for vista and xp ,and as i say AT TIME of writing i prefer xp this doesnt mean vista wont be better but at the moment im finding my experience of the operating system to be cack.I have a d-link ehternet modem which in xp is instantly detected and i can get on the net with straightaway no questions asked, however vista requires me to enter all my settings including dns servers etc and i have to disable ipv6 in my network settings in order for it to work.So yes xo at this time is way ahead of vista for me anyway.I;ll stick with xp thanks and maybe try again in 6mths to a years time on the vista front.

rumble291:

i have a LOT of applications on my XP box and have not had any problems whatsoever. its how you take care of your computer, manage it, what you are doing to your computer/OS, and compatibility. just to name a few.

i have never used vista, and i dont intend to until at least sp1 will be released. my customers report problems everyday with this new OS. XP had the same thing when first released. when it is time, i will, like yourself, run ultimate edition.

unsigned drivers? ive installed several unsigned drivers and my pc has been fine.

errors with flash drive on insert? what did you do to your OS?

enlighten me, because if you are reporting all of these errors with XP, then you are obviosuly doing something unusual to make it crash.
