WM 5.0 Date Overlapped

Hello everyone!

Here is a unique issue I'm dealing with and wondering if anybody else has seen it or has a suggestion on how to correct it.

A picture of it is below;

Notice how the second line/plugin overlaps the first.

I originally thought it was a PocketBreeze (PB) issue (since that is where I first noticed this little quirk) but with the help of Amit over at SBSH Mobile Software Forums (PocketBreeze), we determined it to be a WM 5.0 OS issue since I could also duplicate it with the WM 5.0 Calendar.

The Today Screen will only display normally (after a soft reset or battery change) if I go to Settings > Personal > Today > Items and deselect, then reselect any listed item.

But..... with another soft reset or battery change, the same thing happens.

I have completed a complete Hard Reset ( I needed to anyway) and reloaded everything, but still no success. It appears to be WM 5.0 issue not PB issue.

Open for any suggestions......

- Charles

I haven't seen this on my x51v. What happens if you change the order of the of the 2nd plug-in (you can't move Date)?

Yea, I've tried that, I've moved everything up to the second position just to find the same thing occurs after a soft reset or battery change.

Do you recall any setttings or anything you might have changed?

I have been known to "play" with the settings to see what happens, but with the Hard Reset that I did, I expected all of the original settings would have been restored.

Is everyone is using these updates for the X51V?

- R136600.exe (Axim X51/X51v CF Modem driver update)

- R142389.EXE (Axim X51/X51v Driver Rolling Patch)

- R129272.EXE (Axim X51v system update utility with A12 English ROM image for Windows Mobile Version 5.0. This update can be applied to Axim X51v 624MHz only.)

Thanks for the help ( I sure hope I don't need to do another Hard Reset...... )

One thing I notice that's different than my is that on the very right side, you have a time.
My just says: "Saturday, February 10, 2007" I have to look at other things to see why yours have a time.

Did it come with a time when you first got it?

By the way, just curious, go into this registry:
HKLM/nls/orverrides/SLDte
What is the value?
My is "ddd,MMMM dd, yyyy"

Cchiang - I'm away from home for the next couple days and I don't have the X51V with me. I'll let you know what I see when I get back.

Thanks again for the help

I don't know what it would tell you but it would be interesting to see if the problem was present in landscape mode.

I found the problem!!!!!

I did a Hard Reset and loaded one program one at a time, one after another, completing a Soft Reset after each and everyone. Every time the display was correct. 10 programs and 3 Updates later, multiple Softs Resets and………

The Display still was correct…

Then I felt doomed to accept this little glitch ( whenever it would show up ) and started setting up my preferences, screen layout, etc…

Then I deleted the Bluetooth Icon (BTTray), did a reset ( out of habit now ) AND……

Boom!! The whole plugin shifted up to overlap the top plugin (Date/Time)!!!!!

I replaced the BT icon, Soft Reset then all was norm again. Makes ya want to scratch your head….

So I want to sincerely thank everyone for the ideas, clues and suggestions. Couldn’t have done it with out ya!!!

If anyone figures out why it does this nutty little glitch I’d love to hear.

Thanks again and I owe ya one!
