Hello all,

Not sure if I'm posting this in the correct forum, however this is the situation:

1) Upgraded from Windows XP from 2000 Pro and now cannot Activesync my Dell Axim x51v (WM5). This same situation has occurred on two systems after the XP upgrade.

2) Previously used Sygate Personal Firewall and Cyberscrub Antivirus on a Windows 2000 system. After some workarounds, worked perfectly between a home and office system (both running the same OS).

3) Uninstalled Sygate and Cyberscrub AV and installed Windows Live One Care

4) Unable to Sync even if Live One Care is shut down (run/cmd/net stop winss)

5) Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Activesync

6) Upon reinstall, the device manager pops up asking to install drivers. My understanding is that installing Activesync should install all needed drivers. At the end of the process (as I cannot locate a suitable driver), a message pops up stating "name is already in use as either a service name
or service display name". I think this is the KEY problem. However I don't know the relevance of the service name in Windows XP / Windows Mobile 5 devices.

8) As driver cannot be installed, device manager shows "Windows Mobile based device #3" with missing driver icon.

I would truly appreciate any info / fix on this situation. Thanks.
