but it seems as if all the previous solutions for installing skins for Windows Media Mobile don't apply anymore...I've seen like a dozen posts saying to do this or that -- and none of it works, nor do any of the skins that I have found work or are recognized by Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, version 10.2, Build 14957.
Installing .skn files into WMP folder doesn't work.
Installing entire subdirectory of skin files doesn't work - none of it works and it's still what I see other users posting, as well as links to MS's website for skins that aren't there anymore! Very frustrating, to say the least...
Are there any solutions that would work TODAY?
Any help would be incredibly appreciated -- thanks in advance!!!
Ive loaded skins onto my x50, and all u need is the folder containing all the files for the skin, it has a skn file and pics in it.
Place that whole folder in the program files, windows media player folder.
Then reopen wmp and it should be there.
-Also, make sure ur skin is compatible with whatever display mode ur in. (landscape, vga, etc) Older skins will most likely only work in portrait qvga.

from my experiance, having recently used a Qvga device (now using x51v) it is because they are qvga skins. I got mine to work on the qvga device but none work on axim. the only vga skin I know of is part of xcskins vista package, but for me it searches for skins every time I open media player if i use that skin. If anyone else knows of any other free skins let us know!
Then it was changed to wm5, which is the version # instead of the year of release.
If this rule applied to older versions, instead on 2003se it would be 4.21.....
