Application-Specific Hardware Buttons

Is there any way to map hardware buttons to different functions for a specific application, even if said application does not support hardware button mapping? Thanks in advance!

As usual, Gigi beat me to the answer. .:) I have been using Vito Button Mapper for a while. It is a great program, very easy to use.
