Dumb Daylight Savings Time Question

I'm not a techie at all....would appreciate the wisdom of all you who are.

Can I just skip the whole patch process as long as I am willing to manually change the time on my PDA? Or, am I missing something.

Microsoft recommends upgrading to ActiveSync 4.5 then applying the DST patch.

My Axim is working fine and I'm nervous about some of the things I've read about ActiveSync upgrades.

BTW, I sync to a PC at work...which has been patched.

im axim noobie as well but i think that our axims are set up to automatically update time, the only difference is that now the time wil get updated later than sooner so your axim might be off about the time for the next month or so (that is if you don't apply the patch). im not sure if there is another way to change time.

I have Dell Axim V50v and have same problem.

I sync at home to Windows Vista PC that has automatically updated itself to correct new daylight savings time here in US.

I also sync at work on Windows 2000 PC that is locked as large corp. It has also been updated for correct time.

But my Axim has wrong old - time. When I correct time on Axim manually to correct time, it gets "corrected-overidden" when sync to old time.

I think it's correcting to a GMT plus x hours to my time zone but the two PC's are on Daylight savings but my Axim is not and thus the reason it's overriding it. I think I need to set my Axim to daylight savings but I haven't found a way to do this.

Help please . . .

Update - looks like pach for pur pocket PC's is also available as discussed in different thread at:

Same here.. I"m very annoyed. I installed the cab for the PDA, updated the PC (XP w/ service pack 2), and yet every time that I sync the time of the PDA turns hour hour back.

HelP!~

I'm not a tech expert, but the software needed to be updaed to "Spring Forward" on March 11 (and Fall back in Nov). I guess you really don't need the patch, if you are willing to modify your appointments for the next couple weeks until the sofware thinks it's time to spring forward.

I did the CAB file because I didn't want to upgrade activesync. It worked great
