cannot open cab files, not signed with trusted certificate?

I must be missing something?

My installations work smoothly via activesync (exe apps). I installed Pocketbreezr, iLauncer and Total Commander without any problems.

I fail 100% when I copy a cab file to my x51v. I installed Net Compact framework 2 as it seems that many ppc apps needed this. But Cabs still fail to open.

The error says; This file cannot be opened, either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found etc... I tried the following cab files so far; Googlemaps, Livesearch, wififofum, superdokuinstall.

Doe anyone have any ideas what I might be missing or I am doing wrong??

Thanks for your help!

You may be trying to install the cab Zip. If the cab is in a zip folder on your PC you need to unzip it first before copying to your Ax.

Box thanks for the reply. The files are unzipped and have the cab extension.

box, maybe I'm totally off.
Are you saying that the file with the cab extension has to be unzipped before it is copied to the ax?
In this case I would be copying a bunch of files to the ax.

I've not had the problem myself but, maybe if you try using a Cab installer. There are lots of them around.
Have a look at http://www.freecabs.de/ there are loads of useful applications here, but it's blocked by my current isp.
This is a cab installer that I found using google.

Hope this helps.

The Cab file should just be one file, looks like a blue filing cabinet. But sometimes it still looks like that before it has been unzipped.

Hi,
You need this application in order to be able to install the cabs directly on the Axim, you can set the security on after you installed your applications.

Box, using cabinst did the trick. I was able to install to specific directories in most cases.

Thanks again for your help
