Do NOT ask me if this procedure will work with your setup.
I don't know, and I don't have your hardware.
I can't guarantee you will read and follow this step-by-step. Don't do it for me, do it because you want to.
I'm OCD. If you find an error/omission/tweak/update/fix, PLEASE let me know.
This is what I did, and it worked for me.
READ THE ENTIRE DOCUMENT BEFORE ATTEMPTING. DO NOT SKIP STEPS. DO NOT COLLECT $200.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
(don't blame me if your axim blows up, cat stops talking to you, daughter gets pregnant, etc)

Procedure:

-Be sure your Axim can sync with your computer via the cradle or cable
-Remove your Axim from the cradle
-Turn on the bluetooth on your Axim
-Turn on the bluetooth on your Laptop
-Open ActiveSync on your laptop
-Click File > Connection Settings
-Check Allow Connections to one of the following:
-Select COM7 (don't screw this up!)
-Click OK
-Open the Toshiba Bluetooth Manager
-Click Bluetooth > Options
-Check Bluetooth COM Port Service
-Click OK
-On your Axim, click the Bluetooth tray icon
-Click Bluetooth Manager
-Click New
-Click ActiveSync
-Click Next to begin the wizard
-Click Next to Step 1
-Click Next to Step 2
-Click on your Laptop's icon
-Check Use a secure, encrypted connection (best practice)
-Click Finish

Depending on your configuration, you may have to enter a PIN on the laptop & Axim
It is a good idea to check the box on the next screen that says "always allow connections" so you don't get prompted every time

In the bluetooth manager, tap&hold the activesync connection
Click Connect

golden!!
