Open the WLAN
"Turn On"
"Setting"
Network Adapters (tab)
Tap on "Dell Axim X51 WLAN Wireless Adapter"
Change to "Use specific IP address" and fill in the information in the appropriate places.

BTW, you are better off using DHCP if possible. Setting a static IP requires you to set it on every wireless network that you access.

I might be wrong here, but aren't the network settings specific for each network?

Yes, but on the PPC, the static settings are made on the network adapter, not the network so once you've used a static setting for one network, you have to manually change it for each subsequent network you try to access. That's why it's ill advised to use it rather than DHCP.

Some of the third party network programs may allow you to set them for individual networks, I just have never investigated those options.
