Aximsitex3icon Can not uninstall completely?

I downloaded Acrobat Reader 1.0 a few weeks ago. I saw the version 2.0 and wanted to upgrade. Upon installing 2.0 it asked to uninstall 1.0, so I went to the Remove Programs and uninstalled it from there.
When I went to install 2.0, it still thinks 1.0 is there and it won't take. I did a soft reset, but that did not work. There must be some program file associated with 1.0 that did not get removed. Is there a program I could use to scrub the unwanted file out? Please help.

Try the demos of SKTools or MemMaid to do your scrubbing. If you're brave, you can also try manually going through the files and deleting remnants of the old version, but be aware that you should have a good backup in case you really mess something up and need to hard reset.

GiGi, I think the setup is corrupt for SK-Tools. Keep getting an error on PC. I tried MemMaid and ran that. Then uninstalled ver. 1.0 and ran it again. Something went wrong with Active Sync and had to reinstall that. In Active Sync, under Tools, Add/Remove Programs I saw Adobe Reader 1.0, but it was unchecked. So I deleted the listing anyway.
Tried to install ver 2.0 and it took with no problem. Thanks for the tips.
PS. Wonder how much MemMaid costs.

Empel 1960, I just came back after all was fixed. Thanks for the input.
PS. 1960 was a good year.
