From time to time I'll be using a program such as newsgator or avantgo and while I'm scrolling the screen will get kind of black and white lines throughout the screen. I can still read screen but need to reboot to clear out those black and white lines.

Any idea what the problem is causes it how to solve it. (Axim X51v, opera browser and/or PIE.

I get this same thing from time to time while using Opera. They are aware of this issue from which I understand is mainly on Axims. Hopefully this will be worked out with Opera 8.65 final release in June.

Try closing all your other programs. Don't simply X them, that only backgrounds them. Make sure they are closed and not taking any memory.
