Worried Memory error message on word

I have an axim x51v, which i've had for a while now, and took to class with me for the 1st time the otherday to take notes. I used pocket word and at the end of the class when i went to save, a window popped up telling me that there was not enough memory and my notes were deleted. It turns out, this happens for only very big word files. Nonetheless, I still have plenty of storage memory to accomodate the word file and more.

I tried everything...even a hard reset and taking out all the programs i put in myself. I am able to save very large documents on excel, however. It also doesnt take nearly as long a time to save the excel documents (about 3 seconds as compared to 3-4 minutes for word). Is there a hardware problem or could it be word itself? I'd reinstall word to see, but dell never gave me a cd of pocket office, just outlook. Anyone? Thanks

Where are you saving the files to? you can specify where you save to and it is probably better to save to SD or CF card to save space on the axim.

I have *exactly* the same problem and lost plenty of valuable notes this way.

I don't know what I can do. I save the files to my SD card by default. When I first start, I do a "save as" and ensure it's going to to my SD card. I occasionally "rename/move" to the same place to make sure it's saved. But of course I'd be carried away listening and taking notes ... next thing I know *wham* error and I can't do a thing to save my notes :(

Further to this, I have not found any confirmation that there is a maximum file size for Mobile Word documents.

One thing I would suggest is making sure that nothing else is running in the background. No other programs taking up processor memory when you are trying to save large files.
