Older Ipaqs
Would it ever be possible to put windows mobile 2005 onto an older model ipaq without it even supporting it or it technically impossible?

Probably not, but they'd have to release a full rom upgrade to make it even Possible. But even then, they probably wouldn't be able to get it working at all. I wouldn't recommend it anyway. I usually don't say things like this (it is not like me at all), but you should get a new device. When it comes to PPCs, I spare no expense! This is the only thing I do this on. Everything else I wait and wait...forever. I don't even have a G router! I still use B because it does what I need. With my iPaq, even if my ipaq does what I need, I'd probably upgrade. I can't promise that this is my poliy, though, because my last upgrade included wifi, bluetooth, and a CF slot--plus lots more. So my theory could fall apart with the next devices if they aren't much better.

I'd like to add something. Forget what I said above. My rule of thumb is to buy a new device when the new features are worth it. My first device doesn't count cause I returned it. My second was the 3800 and I waited past the 3900 and all the 5000 series devices (which there were two of, I think) to get the 4700. Both my 3800 and 4700 cost about the same amount of money--which is interesting. Anyway, I waited about 3 years before I upgraded and that was perfect for me. Any less and I would have been mad because the HX4700 was a MAJOR upgrade. The 5000 series was just minor and the price was also the same.
