So is the VGA issue addressed in WM5

I love the sound of Persistant Storage and having all that memory just for running programs but is the issue of VGA screens going to be addressed in WM5.

I would like to see the facility to run QVGA programs (that usually occupy the top left quarter of the screen) resampled or modified in rom to fill the screen so that I am not having to swap between QVGA and VGA.

It would also be cool to be able to alter the system fonts so that ALL fonts can be increased in size accross the board.

Just my little bit of input on this cold Bridlington evening........

Hi borg975. This really isn't a OS issues as much as it is an issue for each individual SW developer. The OS gets around the "problem" by doubling up on the pixels. When you put your device in true VGA mode thru one of the hack programs, you undo this. At that point you are at the mercy of the developer of each of the programs you use. If they didn't build in VGA support, you'll get the program in the upper left hand corner as you described. WM5 won't be any different.

I read the question to be (ok - maybe it's the question in my head!):

"Is there an option for pixel doubling to be disabled in WM5? That is, can you get the true (like Oz_VGA) VGA without doing a reset?"

Thanks for the reply. Is the wifi/bluetooth screen a part of the os or it is pda specific as when I bring it up in VGA mode I get the background in VGA and the buttons in QVGA in the top right corner.

Could Microsoft not ensure that any program that only runs in QVGA doubles up on the pixels and fills the screen as some of the programs/games I use show the background across the full screen but the buttons are located invisibly in the top left corner.

Think we might have to wait and see when it arrives.......... eventually.
