Well, it's NOT useless. :-) /evil grin/
It would look absolutely WONDERFUL next to that AOL CD on your coffee table, playing Drink Coaster. /laugh/ On a serious side, I don't think you can get a refund or "exchange" on it. I think you're kind of stuck. Flip side is, you *might* be able to auction it on eBay or something.

4 full weeks of use and even though I still can't get Real Player to install, I won't be downgrading!
![]() The persitant memory is awesome, it's saved my canadian bacon more than once. I also love the one hand navigation in pIE, and finally you can use hotmail in pocket outlook. You do have to be careful what other progs you load up but overall it's a huge improvement.

I've actually really liked WM5. What are your biggest gripes with it?

it's too slow for my liking. I bought the 2755 because of its 128MB RAM and blazing fast processor. With WM5, it feels very slow (yes, I know the reason why) and it just feels like a step back. I'm not one to worry about loss of data due to low battery so I don't have much to gain from WM5.

I was dissapointed with the fact that it didn't support USB2.0 and that the "Cardexport" feature was not there. These were the main reasons I bought the upgrade. Since it would cost as much as a good USB2.0 multi card reader I figured I would go with WM5 and get that additional software upgrades as well. Needless to say I ended up downgrading and buying a card reader that I carry in my pocket. The other reason I downgraded was the horrible performance (yes, I know about persistant store
). XCPUScalar wouldn't work on it so I couldn't bump up the speed (I have a hx2415). AND despite the directdraw ehancements, my movies played with TCPMP were choppy in WM5 even off of my fast SD card which played back fine in WM2003SE. Go figure! I like some of the features but it still needs work. Oh, and soft rests take longer start than a diesel engine in the arctic. So, a short list of reasons to downgrade:1. No USB2.0 2. No USB Mass Storage Device exporting support 3. Really Slow 4. Some software won't work 5. Activesync 4.0 is a bummer 6. Friggin soft menu!! I'm not saying that WM5 is entirely bad, just that it was not what I expected. I'm dissapointed and I feel like I wasted $40 on worthless software. ![]()

Check my post in the hx2xxx forums - those three registry tweaks have made a world of difference on my 2415. And AS 4.1 is signficantly faster than AS 4.0.
I applied the registry tweaks today and I'm quite satisfied.
