Pim Data Transfer?

Hi:

Has anyone yet devised a way to getthe contacts database off of a hx2750/NON WM5 unit so it can be installed to a hx2790? It seems to be nearly impossible from what I've found out. Barring using IR and transferring each contact indifidually...

So far I've gone into the contacts program on the WM2003 machine and copied all with select all and CNTL C. I've loaded the information to an xl worksheet and saved the file as a .contacts.csv file but I'm not sure how to get the contacts program on the hx2790, WM5 to import the data in a usable form. Any ideas?

TIA for your thoughts.

Take Care

Why not use ActiveSync to synch the information from the non-WM5 PDA, then sync this information into the WM5.0 PDA?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I've uninstalled Outlook from my system long ago. Strictly Eudora on my XP and in WM2003 I used Anysame Express to permit me to sync to XP's addressbook.wab. I don't see anything like that for WM5 yet.

My fault, I forgot to mention this earlier.

FWIW and closure, I've gotten Intellisync and it does all I need. Taking Contacts off the XP addressbook .wab and syncing directly to the PPC . It also does other interface with Outlook express etc.

In case anyone else has a similar problem and needs a choice other than Intellisync, I see that Syncdata has brought out SyncExpress 3 which is supposed to work with WM5. Syncdata Announces SyncExpress 3 for Pocket PC

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?ContentId=6305

SyncExpress was the first solution to synchronize Windows mobile-based
Pocket PC devices with Microsoft Outlook Express. The software enables the
synchronization of Outlook Express Inbox and Windows Address Book and is
seamlessly integrated with ActiveSync.

The new version features support for:

* Windows Mobile 5

* Multiple languages (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish)

* Improved filters for Contacts synchronization

* A new Outlook Express Inbox (the default Pocket PC "ActiveSync" or
"Outlook E-mail" account is not used any longer by SyncExpress 3).

Users can now synchronize an Exchange account and Outlook Express at the
same time, or synchronize Outlook Express on a PC and Microsoft Outlook on a
second PC.

More information: http://www.syncdata.it/

FWIW
THERE 'TIS
