Yeah, on the Start page it is blue and shows "Calendar" and "Contacts" doesn't it. I don't think there is a way (hack or otherwise) to turn it off, and I haven't see a way to add stuff to it.

That bar is not on my rx1950. I have a hardware button to access WIFI. I think the rx1950 does not have all of the same features as the higher end models.

it is simple a bar simialar to the date bar but it only has a button to access the wireless screen for turning on and off wifi and bluetooth
and would liek to remove it or add to it as it is a waste of space with only one icon

First of all, the free version of powertoys has not been upgraded for wm5. Some things may work, but wm5 uses a very different interface for some of the user interface (ui) options.

There are several programs that can be used together to get rid of both the shell tray and the soft buttons. There are also programs that can add to the bottom shell tray to make it more useful.

vjtoggletodayalpha essentially makes either the top bar or the soft buttons (or both) get much smaller - 1-4 pixels at the top or bottom of the screen. you tap those pixels and you have access to the buttons or tray.

Other programs such as claunch give you many options, and there are paid programs such as ilauncher that will put additional program icons in the tray.
