can't control slimserver from PPC - browser issues

Anyone here use their pda to control slim server via the web interface? I tried 3 browsers (and various versions) and no joy.

Backend is KnoppMyth R5E50 (debian based) with Slim Server 6.2.x

On my Zaurus SL-5500 running OZ 3.5.3/OPIE using Konqueror going to http://mymythtvbox:9000 has some of the graphics flash on the screen twice, then it says completed loading and on the screen I see "Initializing Home..."

Opera, does much the same and then stops at "Downloading Player List"

On my Ipaq 3600 running PPC2k2 which is hooked up to the lan and my Home Theatre system, using GSPlayer to stream from Slimserver, Pocket IE shows most of the webinterface but no graphics load and there is a text message about XML at the top of the window, no controls actually work though.

On my Dell Axim X51v running Windows Mobile 5 using Pocket IE, it displays most of the web interface, play, stop buttons etc and navigation links, but none of them are active. At the top of the window it shows "Loading Scripts"

The latest Opera Mobile beta (8.65) gets to the "Downloading Player Lists" and pops up "Error creating XMLHttpRequest". I keep clicking okay to the error, it keeps showing "downloading player list" jumps to the XML error again and we cycle through this over and over.

Of course it works fine with Firefox 2.x on Win 2k/XP and Linux (OpenSuse 10.x) and any other desktop browser I try.

If you are using an alternate browser like Netfront and it works, I'd love to know about it. My primary goal is to have it work with the Axim and
secondarily with the Zaurus.

Note, streaming playback on all 3 pda's works fine, it's just the control of playback that is the problem.

Thanks.
