My x50 just lost Powerpoint, word and excel. Can I reinstall from wm5 upgrade cd. Did not see how to do it without losing all my apps. Did soft reset but did not help. Icons for programs are generic and when pressed say cannot find file. How do I reinstall these office programs???

Perhaps it is just the shortcuts that are the problem. Have you tried creating new shortcuts for these applications?

You can find the exe's for these applications in the Windows folder:

Excel = pxl.exe
Word = pword.exe
PowerPoint = ppt.exe

If these applications are really missing from the Windows folder, you'll need to perform a clean reset to restore your Pocket PC to factory settings (well post WM5.0 upgrade settings anyway).

     

it's my impression that once you upgrade to wm5, you can't remove it, not even a hard reset.
so you must just lost your shortcuts.

Re-established shortcuts but when I try to open excel or word doc says "error occured while trying to open...." Transfered in other docs but same thing.

Why not try a Hard reset. Btw, backup first.
