Aximsitemobileicon Best places to free up memory

Every once in a while I get storage is too low delete files.

I download often and try to delete from my documents.

Any ideas on files you (CAN) delete that would free up more memory. (Ignoring SD card for the moment).

i would first reccommend reading this

Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine Expert: Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen - Relocation tutorials/hacks

otherwise, dont use your internal storage for anything except apps that HAVE to be installed to the evice such as today plugins.

after apps are installed to internal storage or to a memory card, its ok to remove the help files associated with the app and i personally move the installer files in \windows\appmgr to external storage until i am going to install/upgrade something.

if you have a lot on your device in internal storage, i would start over. make backups of all your settings for your apps. copy or save those files to sd. hard reset, and reinstall everything you can to sd card.

I've heard Memaid is good for deleting files used for PIE as well as other files. Try a search.

I take for granted that you have freed up the 2MB occupied by Odessey ?
(EDIT: I don't know if thats the case in WM5)

On my X50v I have put a link in my cLaunch pointing to the Odessey in the ROM if/when I need it's service - which rarely happens

.

Best places to free up memory? The brain....
Catalog what you have on there that's really unnecessary or relatively unused. I stopped using fancy today plugins, deleted inessential/unused apps and so had plenty of space. *A long time ago I had 70+ apps installed...I realized most were W?BIC stuff. A back to basics approach helps a lot. ;)

Install nothing to device memory[unless it wont let you install to card ie; SPB mobile shell] Pocket Mechanic Pro and memmaid will clear unnecessary files, the disadvantage is that you have to log in to all of your most visited websites again but you can choose not to clear cookies etc. If you have files that are active in my documents and syncing, leave them in sync folder. If they are finalised move them to card!
