Mad WM5 DST Update = slow axim

Hello from a newbie to the forums: I own a Dell X51v running the latest rom update from Dell. When I install the MS daylight savings time patch file (downloaded directly from MS) my Axim begins to run VERY SLOW for the first few seconds after turning the device on. It is very annoying.

I uninstalled the patch but the system still is slow. A hard reset will fix the problem, but obviously the patch is not present. Reinstall the patch, slowness returns.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue?? How did you fix it??

Thanks, Chris.

I am not sure what is MS DST Patch is doing, but theoretically for DST updates the only think you need is to add some keys to registry. I wrote some application which is adding these changes to the registry. You can give it a try and see if your Axim is slow after that. Application doesn't require any additional dll's or Compact Framework. Just copy the executable to any place in your Axim and run it. After start it will show you your current time zone settings. Go to Action-> Updates, select all and click Action->Install. Here is the app:http://www.aximsite.com/boards/appli...ws-mobile.html

You wonder what crazy stuff microsoft and della are doing to your device with these "updates". Thats why I'm such a big fan of open source development.
