I gave up on WM5 two years ago due to firmware issues and compatibility issues, have they released a new firmware for the x50v in the last 2 years? How are the compatibility issue with WM5? Is upgrading to WM5 recommended by the majority now?

I'm still using the stock bios, is there a newer/better one out? If so, should I use that?

Personally, I'd not bother with it. The x51 has more memory and other features than the x50.

I'd just keep it stock and if you REALLY needed the WM6 and such, I'd look at the new iPaq 200 series.

There are those that will swear by the upgrade, YMMV depending on your use of the device.

I know how you feel. wm2003se is starting to become obsolete. All these cool programs run on wm5+. I am in the same boat, thinking about whether i should risk stabilty for the ability to run newer programs. Someday when 2003se is totally obsolete, i prolly will try an upgrade.
