Need a program...
Ok here is what I need...
Im a social worker and I meet with numerous clients weekly. I need a program that I can enter each clients info on the day I enroll them and then remind me at certain time intervals things I need to do with each one in those timeframes. For example, when I enroll someone I need to re-evaluate them 6 months later. I would need a program that would keep track of what is needed by when and remind me in the six months. I know I can set appointments on a calendar but with so many I don't want to forget any appointments. I know this probably doesn't exist but if someone knows something even close it would help. Thanks in advance... ![]()

Pocket Informant will do that if I understand your needs correctly. You can set alarms for future meetings and there is a built in Task List. It has a calendar, contacts and the best part is that it integrates them all into one package, which is a major difference from the default apps. Plus it synchs with the desktop so you can get a better view of the whole picture.

So for every client there are a series of activities that occur in discrete time periods that you wish to be reminded of? I don't think I'd try to set this stuff up in a PIM application.
One of my most used applications on my pocket pc is ListPro. You could create a ListPro file that includes all the demographic data about your clients and an enrollment date. The file could include many different date records that could be automatically populated off of the enrollment date (or any other date field in the ListPro file). For example, you enroll Suzie Smith on November 1, 2007. There is a followup activity that needs to occur 6 months later. You would have a date field, we'll call it FU. When you add Suzy's new data, the enrollment date field gets populated with November 1, 2007 and the FU field is automatically set for 6 months into the future (approximately 180 days later). You can set alarms for each date field. You can check out Listpro here: Shopping lists, to do lists, grocery lists and checklists for Pocket PC, Palm and Smartphone - easily done with ListPro.

This sounds exactly like I need. And don't worry I will remember to respect their confidentiality. We have certain ways where we keep names and info confidential. Ill check this out and see how it looks, thanks a lot.

The good thing about Listpro is that it is very flexible. The bad thing about Listpro is that it is very flexible - meaning you'll have to create the file yourself. The files are not hard to create, but there is a bit of a learning curve. If you decide to use Listpro, let me know and I'll try to help you out (if you think you need it).
Listpro also has a desktop version. So you can set everything up there and then copy the file to your pocket pc. The Pocket PC version is fully functional, but I find it tedious to create things entirely on the pocket pc. You can also import and export information into ListPro. So if you already have the client demographic data in another system, you may be able to export the data to a comma delimited file and then import it into Listpro. You can also export your Listpro data to a comma delimited file.
