How to fix total ram problem

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but when I look at the total program memory in WM5 (A02 rom) on my X50 (mid), it shows only 50mb instead of 60-some megabytes. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Patch, driver, anything? I would like to be able to use all of the availible ram because I have trouble trying to get enough ram to run 32mb gameboy advanced games with pocketgba.

I don't believe there is anything you can do about the missing RAM (~16mb). Have a look at this article to learn more about the situation.

You could simply never turn the device on so the OS never loads up and eats ram...

Very funny. Actually I have a better idea why don't you send your device to pocketpctechs they can increase your RAM from 64 to 128 which should give you plenty of room to run pocket gameboy or any other application you want.

HP IPAQ 211: WAD, WA, PocketPlus, PocketWeather, MemMaid, Pocketmusic, etc.

I would love to do this, except I have already looked into this. PPCTechs has said that they can't do the ram upgrade. If anyone from PPC Techs sees this, please correct me if I am wrong.

You'll need to do a search, but awhile back someone wrote up a procedure for using SD or CF card memory to load large programs.

I've looked at PPCTechs site and they don't have an RAM upgrade option for x50 Mid. Maybe you can send them e-mail and ask? They normally respond very quickly.

I've been searching for awhile now, with no success. I didn't pay much attention to the thread since I didn't plan on needing the extra memory.

Hi, unfortunately, we don't offer a RAM upgrade on the X50.

If PPCTechs doesn't offer a ram upgrade on the X50 mid, then who does? Also, PPCTechs what makes the X50v different from the X50 (low or mid) that you can't offer a ram upgrade?

Hi Steven855,

The ROM is different on the X50 (low or mid) and doesn't support the extra RAM.

Which os are we taking about, WM2003 SE or WM5? I am running WM5 A02 rom. I am also in to making custom roms so I could always modify something to support the extra ram.
