Yes but the upgrade won't be out until approximately Feb '06.

So recently I wiped and re-setup my 4705, and tonight got to thinking about updates I probably should have done before cleaning house... I've never run a single HP update of any kind... driver, ROM, firmware...

I'd probably like to update to WM5, and even get a RAM upgrade sometime thereafter (my warranty recently expired, so... if I remember correctly I have the least to lose by upgrading RAM now)...

My question is this:

Should I do any pre-emptive updating before moving to WM5? (If it gets favorable reviews here, of course...)

My current specs read as such:

Product Revision Level : 1.0
ROM Date : 09/02/04
ROM Revision: 1.00.09 ENG
OS Version : Windows CE 4.21
Bootloader Version : 1.01
XIP Version : 4.21.14132.0

I consider myself pretty IT savvy, but HP's download section for the 47xx doesn't feel intuitive at ALL to me... I'm finding it *really* difficult to discern what updates actually apply to me and what I need!

Suggestions on updates, even if I don't move to WM5?

Thanks, all!

No need for any updates to "prep" for WM5.0 :)

As for updating to the latest ROM revision, you can do a search through the 4700 forum for feedbacks :approve:
