Anyone else having problems with HP Protect Tools and WM5? When i try to activate it, it goes along fine until I have to train the device to read my fingerprint....it is almost as though the hardware isnt detected. I swipe my finger over the biometric sensor and nothing.

Credant has nothing on their site...and HP's is just as sparce. Any thoughts?

But the 2790 comes with WM5 right? I wonder if the upgrade didnt go as well as i thought.....

Security works flawlessly on my 2755. I couldn't even think about using it with WM2003, whenever the though crossed my mind the pda would hard reset it self then spontaniously combust!

but seriously.....
Might wanna try a re-install of WM5, It seems(from reading several other posts) as if the biggest complaints about WM5, like slow performance & inconsistant errors are always remedied by a re-install of WM5.

By flawlessly, I assume you mean without significant problems. I am told (and have tried both the 2790 and the 2795) that the encryption of the contacts/tasks/appointment databases via hp protect is not yet compatable with wm 5.0. Hp says there is no solution to the incompatability as of yet.

Are those choices greyed out on your units as they are on ours?

Yes those options are indeed greyed out. By flawless I meant that all of the available options work as intended with out the typical "non-responsive, tap every blessed icon on the freakin screen, curse the device into the 7th circle of hell, throw darts at my Bill Gates dart board and finally do the soft reset" scenario. :crooked:
