Remove icons from "Programs" for built-in apps?

I have some built-in apps that I don't wish to show in "Programs". For example, I use 1-Calc Lite for my calculator and never use Calc. So I'd like to remove the shortcut for Calc. I understand that removing the application will save no space but removing the shortcut from Programs will make the programs list shorter. It annoys me to have redundant icons.

Yeah, what Julie said.

Rather than deleting them though, I usually create a "Miscellaneous" folder in there and shove all the shortcuts I don't use or rarely use in there.. Every once in a while I do find the need to use an application that I swore I'd never use. :)

Excellent advice. Thanks very much. Some are now in "\Rarely Used" and others have bitten the dust for good ;)

Yeah, one of my favorite things to do once I get settled in with a ROM for a while. Too much crap in Programs that I never touch.

You sometimes become oblivious to all the "unused" programs. I like the idea of creating a rarely used folder ...great tip!

Glad to have helped folks! This is the best incentive for asking questions - seeing other people with the same issue and sharing the solutions.
