My x30 wont connect through wifi, and there is no enable network connections in 4, i think ill go back down to 3.8!

i got same prob, and going to roll it back to 3.8.

I didn't think Activesync 4 was out yet? If you have an advance copy (legal or not), that may be why you can't get it to work.

I am not going to post the site (because I am assuming it is illegal) but I did it from a google search. They claim it leaked out on the web. The download was for windows mobile 2005 rom, including async 4.0. I wouldn't recommend downloading it (I didn't) because they rom has to be specially made for your device. In otherwords there isn't a generic os for ppc, you can't install a ipaq update on an Axim. They are all device specific.

   

I have the same problem but rolling back to 3.8 wasnt possible. every time i try to uninstall 4.0 and install any older version 3.8, 3.7 etc. i cannot seem to open the Active Sync window. The little icon on the tray is there but duoble clicking / "right click open activesync" doesnt do anything.
So I'm stuck with 4.0 do to be able to sync at all.
Anyone figured out how to do wifi sync with 4.0 yet ?
Anyone rolled back without this problem ?

the 4.0 version that is leaked out does not accept wifi yet. give it a few weeks and we will probably see the leaked 4.0 build that lets you use wifi.

I've used 4.0 now for almost two weeks with no problems

Which build of 4.0 do you guys have? I just came across an install file for it, and I'm wondering if I should play with it or not.

I have played with it for a while, I couldn't get it working. I have build 4328. Just incase anyone was wondering, I was able to upgrade to A03 with async 4.0.

I copy from the other comp with AS 3.8 those file and it's working again. Here I attach those files. Just override the files. You must disable async from the running process first.

What is the possibility for a 3rd party app capable of restoring the wireless synchronization to ActiveSync 4.0? Some have created ActiveSync solutions such as MagicSync and MightySync . Perhaps some developer will see an opportunity to make this happen?

Cant get this work around to work what am I doing wrong? I've been going around in circles for days. Please help!

If you do a search in these forums you'll find the answer: ActiveSync 4 doesn't support sync over Wifi, although I think someone has suggested a workround - I can't remember how /why as I don't sync my Axim so I didn't pay much attention.

This might be a workaround for the MS decision to cut wireless synching from ActiveSynch 4.

You just set up the PPC to sync over the internet. Of course, MS may decide to block this up too...

I tried it, and it seems to work just as quickly as a cradle sync.
