Has anyone actually installed 2005?

I've seen people who say they have 2005 but nobody has mentioned how it worked for them. I found it but haven't installed or anything mainly cause i'm scared i'll do ireversible damage. Anyone else in my same scenario? What were your experiences?

The leaked version is for phone devices. Unless you have the phone device it is meant for you take a risk of messing up your PPC big time.

OK, ur going to say im mad but hey im in for a chalenge, if someone can email me/ tell me where the files are ill have a go. i havnt got much to loose im thinking of getting a new PDA soon anyway!

Anybody mad enough to try it, should be able to find the files by themselves... but it sounds like a pretty bad idea to me

i have looked for the files already but....................it seems microsoft has had them taken off the net somehow, all the links either say ''we have been asked by microsoft to romove this page'' or the page dosnt load at all, so if someone already has the files then microsoft cant get at em! OK, so i have tried looking, just a little to late!

i used all the files and tried to upgade to wm2005 for the fun of it. First you have to have activesync 4.0 to install wm2005. Every time I tried to install it would not communicate correctly with the axim. I think it would only be possible for a phone user.

so would i be right in saying that you installed the windows mobile 2oo5 on a dell axim X30? and what worked and what didnt? anyone tried it on an X5? would it work by any chance?

No, the leaked beta only works on the HTC Himalaya phone, nothing else. Period.

Guys keep in mind that unlike a normal PC operating system Windows Mobile OS are hardware specific. I presume this is to keep them small enough to fit on your devices.
