Windows Mobile 2005 aka Magneto Preview at Mobile Review

Mobile Review has posted a fairly extensive preview of Windows Mobile 2005 which features exciting screenies of some of the new features to be found in the next version of Windows Mobile. It seems that the system requirements are 32 MB of Flash ROM, 64 MB of RAM, and it will run acceptably at 200 Mhz. Are you thinking what I am thinking???

Sure its a new OS - but I'm yet to see or hear of any anything that will make me want to go out and get it. IMHO, PIE still needs a lot more massaging ...

The whole OS needs an overhaul. Mobile Office still needs work. PIE is still a mess and you still can't make the "X" button natively close programs. Microsoft needs to seriously do some homework.

RAM management needs to be more intuitve and streamlined. That stinking slider ain't gonna cut it anymore. I should be able to dictate exactly how much RAM I want dedicated for storage and for running programs. The slider shouldn't just magically reposition itself to it's own liking everytime I turn my back- even when I'm nowhere near low on RAM. Pain in the arse...

I don't think we'll get those bugs and annoyances fixed but hopefully 2005 will be a HUGE step in the right direction.
