Take heart Jukov -- Windows Mobile 2005 may yet prove to be like Windows ME for desktop. No-one who had that one wanted it.

so far the majority of the non-official sources mentioned that the improvements are relatively minimal and are already being fixed by 3rd party apps for those people for whom its important - e.g. textmaker instead of their revamped word etc suite.

I suppose that the big change will be more the wireless management - if at all. Even if Dell offers it, I am going to sit back and wait for this one to be tested by those braver-at-heart than I. :)

The problem now is the "wow-factor"! If there will be new ones coming out with 2005 and with better memory, what is the nerd in me going to do?!?!?!?

You could always take the "This new <whatever> is so much more bloated than the original" approach...

Actually the major improvement should be the location of the os on the handheld improving the speed and RAM availability. Sure, it will take a few months for software makers to adopt but ,hell, I was planning to use my Ax until the end of the year...
@G M Fude - sure it might be crappy but the geek in me won't be able to resist upgrading. Plus, I think that after so many years the *should* make it right...

Actually, the big news is the new 2800G video graphics processor coming out this fall around the same time. Maybe the new devices will have true VGA and developers will support this chip.

WM2005 & 2800G = a new Axim for me! :approve:

Threads are identified and sorted by subject matter, rather than how many people the thread creator thinks will want to respond. This is why the forums are split into subject matter heads, and not just "Forum 1: All opinion polls/or threads that should be viewed by all", "Forum 2: threads that some should view", ad infinitum...

The forums are structured so that new and existing Aximsite members can get the most out of the massive amount of threads and posts available, and can easily delve into the brilliant resources.
