I do remember seeing something about being able to sync over BlueTooth in a new artical about Active sync 4, so That makes be doubt that Syncing over IP option being removed is just an assumption. I think it makes more sence that the option to enabke it was removed from activesync because it is now enabled by default. Again, I could be wrong, but I don't like jumping to conclusions too quickly.

From the WM2005 fact sheet:
· ActiveSync® 4.0 support. Windows Mobile 5.0 offers users new features such as the ability to sync pictures in contacts and wirelessly sync over Bluetooth®, as well as an improved partnership wizard and an improved overall synchronization experience.
My take is Wifi is out but Bluetooth is in.
