What did they charge for the WM 2003 upgrade? Or for a WM 2003 SE upgrade?
I would assume that it would be along those prices. Even then considering that you would spend ar LEAST a couple hundred to buy a new device with WM 2005 then I think 50 or below is a good deal. The X50v should be a decent device for another year at least. It won't stay at the top, but with an upgrade option you can keep it modern.
Its not how much you pay that makes the difference it's how much you pay over a given period of time, and considering that the hardware will still work great for quite some time, AND you can have the latest OS then you gotta think that you'll have a longer lifespan on your device. Certainly is cheaper than buying another one.
i wonder if it will b like the ipaq 3600 upgrade a few years ago. they went from ppc2000 to ppc2002, and u could find it all over the net for free download.
These posts always make me so sad....
People that think stealing is o.k. as long as you don't see the person you are stealing from.
Get right, friend. It will really pay off in the long run.
BACK OT...
I would pay $30-$40 for it. But I sure will miss wi-fi sync.

Remember just one thing....
I have no idea what I am talking about.
Ever.
Just consider yourself lucky that you get the choice of purchasing the upgrade, :realmad: We Axim X30 Mid and High owners are being left out in the cold and are extremely pissed!!!! even those who purchased their X30s days and even months after X50s were purchased are being ignored, with no reason other than trying to get us to move to the new units even when ours are capable of running the upgrade easily....so consider yourself lucky and enjoy...
It sad and cruel but thats the business world. If they upgrade X30 user then the x5 and x3 will ask for upgrades too. Then it will never end and Dell and ms will lose money.
No I paid about $181 for my dell axim50v with extra battery...
There was a 30% off special that stacked with the 20% off dpa coupon then it also stacked with my 90 dollar concession coupon.. The price was 258 with tax and shipped... After it was shipped I call dell customer care to return the secondary battery and cancel my extended 2 yr warranty back to 1 year warranty and got back 14.50 for the battery and 62.50 for the warranty so my final cost was $181.00 shipped and with tax... I was also told to keep the secondary battery as a goodwill gesture..
I think so - there will be a slew of new programs for the x50v that use DirectX graphics (not available on PPC2003) which will compell upgrade for many of us.
I just bought an X50v this yesterday and checked up on my order status today. After seeing that my order was confirmed I noticed one of the lines under my "Order Details" said this:
Item# 464-1791 FREE MS MOBILE 5.0 OS UPG CD W/AXIM X50
