Actually the upgrade will be mailed to new Axim owners in October. I just purchased my second Axim and the price is the same(the first one I ordered in Dec 2004. I just purchased my new one and I was told and it was printed on my invoice as it will be delivered to me in October as a CD not as a download.

I bought mine before the upgrade was announced. But, then on the shipping invoice, there is a line for the free upgrade.

So we know for sure you won't be able to update the X30?

Yup. The only Dell to get the upgrade will be the X50.

As far as I'm concerned WM5 is, to quote Shakespeare, "much ado about nothing."

Old fart that I am, I use my X50v solely as a PIM and GPS tool;, I have no interest in WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. and switched from a wonderful old Ipaq 3955 solely for the Dell's VGA screen.

I think it means you will get a free update when it is available.

While we are talking abt Outlook. Question. My desktop has win98fe. I put the Outlook 2002 on it, and it is giving me problems. Are they incompatible? It does sync with my X30 hi.

I recently talked my good friend into purchasing a new X50v and his came with a coupon for a free $39.95 value Windows Mobile 2005 Upgrade CD.
I just wanted to post this so that everybody on here now's that is how much it will cost when you purchase the upgrade cd from Dell.com for your Axim. $39.95

What "slew" of new programs? I got my wife the 50v but I got the x30H by choice (yes, the Dell rep tried to talk me out of it but I REALLY liked the 30). Anyway, she's not sure if it worth upgrading 'cause the features listed are not that compelling.

I think talk of Slews is premature to say the least. Unless you are a gamer your probably not going to feel much presure from DirectX
