WM5 and Voice Command

I see that MS has made Voice Command available to OEMs to integrate with WM5 in their products......

Any thoughts on the likelihood that Dell will do this when they start selling WM5 X50s/make the WM5 upgrade available?

Thanks.....

I have messed with that stuff on my pc but more for fun than any thing. Not fast as other interfaces so not sure I would use it on my ppc.

It must still be cool though... speak to your PPC!! Especially if you're in the car or something.

voice recognition software is not always intuitive and can be very ram and processor intensive..I use Dragon Naturally Speaking Med Pro version....

I would imagine the commands would be limited and speak will need to slow and clear

I would guess not in the upgrade (as they will be trying to get it down to a low price point) but yes in the next axim (as then they will be able to 'sell' it as an added feature)
This week I have been mostly listening to..... Short cummings audio

I have had great luck with voice command
I basically use it in my car to play songs, and switch bewtween gps and windows media
Limitations are: Can't ask to play certain song (only album or artist)
Can't control program functions (makes sense) so I can't speak to mapopolis to get my directions

It is pretty inutuative and handy but not completly featured
I think it was worth what i paid for it

I have installed voice command 1.5 on my Axim and its handy, all programs open with just a simple command ...Media plays easily, and appointments, contacts, mail and tasks are quickly accessed... no learning curve for the software to establish from you and it easily understands commands...it will come standard with 2005 mobile but for the rest of us it runs about 39.00 or its available at file sharing sites (but you did not hear that from me).....

Specs Axim X30 High

The Voice Command is part of WM5 . . . not an add on kind of thing.

Also, it isn't vocal recognition. It's voice commands. Very simple commands. Open word, change song, etc.

Dragon Speak has some PPC stuff, but not PPC wise. It's more of a after you sync, then the saved files can be translated to text.

After checking out the demo.. I'm about to buy VC for my MDA compact. The bonus is that it will do voice dialing based on your outlook phone book without ANY training. Not sure if i'd buy it for my axim though....
