WM2003SE already allows apps to be programmed that can make full use of VGA resolutions. (ie. PocketBreeze, ContactBreeze, WeatherPanel, Pocket Informant, Resco's software, etc, etc, etc) All the hacks do is force the non-vga aware apps to a different dpi setting which may or may not work well depending how they display their GUI. There really would be no need for "true VGA" switcher apps *if* app programmers would all update their programs for the new VGA devices and give people some display options. However, even then, people will complain that the top and bottom WM bars are too large, or that the app still isn't makeing use of VGA like they want it to, etc, etc. Still you can't expect M$ to build in a hack that's only purpose is to be a crutch for apps that haven't been made VGA aware and may not even work well in that mode.
The best you can hope for is for M$ to give more sizing options for their OS and apps. Like let us choose the top and bottom bar & font sizing, icon scaling in program manager, more layout sizes in the bundles apps, etc. PocketBreeze allows for this sort of control over its display and you get a lot of flexibility.
