Question Hacking WM 5 emulator question

This is going to sound n00bish but aren't all emulators hackable? So why can't someone just reverse engineer the emulator for WM 5 (which is already available for download to the public) and port them to a PocketPC (substituting the neccessary drivers with the ones already present for the current devices)? Appreciate some answers as well as comments

Techinally yes? but there are simpler ways of doing it - ie just altering an existing wm5 rom to work on whichever device you want it to.

the time you'll be finished hacking the emulator, WM5 will already be out. =\. I prefer staying calm for 2 months and spend 40 bucks, than working day-n-night for something that'll come =)).

Ummmm maybe its becauseee....
1) It would take a tremendous amount of time and effort
2) Creating drivers will be a trial and error night mare. It's kinna like saying 2+2=4 but you neeed to figure out wat the + does
Rest in peace my beloved X30
You took a lot of physical abuse... (lots of drops!)

It isnt possible to do with an X5 and this i know since the X5 may not have the min req amount of ROM space. But i speaking of doing it for the X30 (i know there are tons of x30 users out there)

I know that you can use the ROM OS image from another device and port it to another device (The O2 guys have done that- giving a community made SE upgrade to users of certain O2 models that O2 didnt provide the update for- something like taking the WM2003SE OS from the X30 and configuring it for the X3 and X5 lines (which hasnt taken off yet due to lack of expertise on the Dell Axim user side)
