Current software compatibility with WM5
I'll be receiving my Axim x50v tomorrow and have over a dozen software titles I'd like to buy/try. Is there any need to worry about the compatibility of currently available software with WM5?

Once I upgrade to WM5 in October, I don't want my software purchases from August to be orphaned becuase they don't work properly with WM5. Most developers don't offer much info on the compatibility of their currently available apps with WM5.

Any informed thoughts on this?

I've just received the wm5.0 developers kit, with wm5.0 emulator, so I'm going to throw a few apps that I use on my x50v to see how they go :-)

Thanks for posting this Quester, it didn't dawn on me until I read this that yes there will be a few compatability issues between the OS. I only hope they are minimal, microsoft is usally good at this part at least.

I was just wondering this too. I see a lot of programs getting new released stating "WM05 compatiblity". Some programs (such as advanced today plugins and PIM software that have to delve a bit deeper) I can understand but what about general stuff like simple little games. Will they work?

Is the bottom menu going to be removed, or will we only get those stupid 2 context buttons for programs that especially use it?

I just updated my x50v to ROM 0.5 BECAUSE I predict a lot of programs will not work correctly, I will wait to see what the early adopters have to say
