If x50/4700/loox owners get it as a free update, then yes it is free. Its not made for older devices so they can go ahead and pay for it, and not reap much benefit...

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,

read this,

http://www.mobiletechreview.com/edit...s-mobile-5.htm

about halfway through it says (and i quote):

"Windows Mobile 5 supports a variety of display resolutions included standard QVGA (240 x 320), VGA (640 x 480) and square 240 x 240"

bit of a kanundrum.

2003 SE also supports 480x640, but I think WM5 will double the size of the interface for these screens just like 2003SE.

Keep in mind that VGA resolution doesn't mean that everything will instantly be smaller. It just means that there are more pixels on the screen. It is up to the developers to determine what they want to do with those pixels. For third-party software, the developer of the software would need to make things smaller in order for it to appear smaller on the screen. For Windows Mobile itself, I agree that it would be nice for MS to include several "size" options for menus, icons, text, etc, etc.
