True VGA in WM5

I have heard lots of different things regarding true vga mode in the new wm5. Some people say you wont need se vga and oz vga becuase it will be built into it, other say you will still need it. Does anybody have a definate answer to the question.

Based on what I have read, when it comes to VGA, WM5 will be just like WM2003SE. You'll still need programs like OzVGA, SE-VGA, or Force HiRes. Hopefully, they will still work with WM5.

I agree, but the programs like ozvga and sevga will have to be updated to support WM5.0.

If WM2005 doesn't support VGA natively, it's useless!
What can 2005 do that 2003 can't?

It would be really bad if they did not have that built into wm5. I agree, besides the better use of memory it wouldn't be worth the upgrade.

Being a VGA OS doesnt automatically mean that everything becomes smaller...it would actually be very good and useful if you were allowed to change the sizes of all menus, fonts, etc so you dont have to use a cheap hack like ^^ that makes things barely usable, but...its microsoft. oz etc were hacks to their OS and theyll be damned if theyll say "hey that was a good idea, well do that for real now"

Persistent storage, better use of RAM, one-handed navigation, improved speed, and Direct3D Mobile?

plugs into any computer via USB and shows up as a normal drive (no need to install stupid software to drag-drop files), better navigation (from what ive seen), more support for devices, USB host that will be used with new hardware....yeh it goes on :)

I cant wait, personally.

you would think with a big upgrade though, it would support/provide more things.

Is it free if you own an X50v or is it $30-$50 for the upgrade? I thought there was a fee to get the upgrade regardless...

Free? don't think so... $40 USD most likely. Still good though in my opinion.

its not free, most people have to pay $50 for it. And nothing is free, they incorperate it into the price.
