Question WM5 and AIM on X50v

I just upgraded (if you can call it that) my X50v to WM5. Now, I can get AIM 2.0 to sign on just fine by clicking through to the stock quote to get me to the sign on screen, but it's clunky at best. I saw on a few other forums (xda-developers) screenshots of AIM where the start menu was at the bottom of the screen instead of the top, and the old AIM command bar was at the top of the screen- supposedly there's a cab file taken from a smartphone that allows this to happen, but I can't actually find a download link to that particular file. Is there anyone that can help??

The X50 Mixer http://www.cs.pitt.edu/~jmisurda/ppc/x50mix/x50mix.htm seems to work just fine on Windows Mobile 5. The only thing i noticed which may have always been there is that the peak of bass is not at the very end of the slider, it's about .5 inches back.

Astraware Insaniquarium doesn't work at all. It comes up with the message "This version of the game is designed to be used with a Windows Mobile Pocket PC 2002 or higher." Once you click ok, the game exits.

Any news on the Dell GPS software? I received a insert with my upgrade CD instructing me to go to www.navigation.com/dellupdate to download a zip file. I don't see a zip file to download there??

I have the a01 software already, I'm just going to install it and see if it works.

I can't get to that page either...however I also have that version... something about needing bluetooth passkeys for the devices and certificates to run the programs. Dell best get on the ball.

Sorry I didn't get this... does it work after you click ok?

Also, many are requesting for GSPlayer to be tested, can someone thoroughly test this fine piece of software?

Gowerpoint uBook (v0.9e at least) works fine in WM5 for me.

WinCESoft's RemoteControll II seems to work also, with only a couple minor non-critical issues that I have noticed so far.

Guys, I'm sorry to hear that. The intention of this thread is to collectively test the available software on our Axims. I trust your word on this , but there are some users that have experienced troubles operating OCN.
I will remove your software from all lists and open a corresponding thread specifically on this subject.
Thank you for your update, I hope this issue will be resolve as soon as possible and more people will enjoy your fine piece of software :approve:

Based on the OCN5 thing, I think this thread should be called the Dell X50x with Windows Moblie 2005 reported compatibility list.

We cannot say on this forum that OCN5 is not compatible with Windows Mobile 2005, however we can say there are reported compatibility problems with Dell X50x's running Windows Mobile 5.

====

I asked OCN on their forum regarding actual testing of OCN5 on Pocket PC devices, I have not seen a reply yet. See the last post of the first page of the topic here: http://www.oncoursenavigator.com/for...=10&p=1&m=2041

Plus, a direct quote from NAVIGON: "If you have any problems which you just discovered with the new OS you may use the offer until there is a new OS version from Dell." If there was no problem, I would not understand the need for this post. http://www.oncoursenavigator.com/for...px?f=10&m=2254

WiFiFoFum works on WM5 (x50v)

Sorry, I didn't read every single page of posts but I have WiFiFoFum working on my WM5 upgraded on x50v device. It detects all wireless info near me and does that scope view too.

Are you saying that Insaniquarium did work for you? Do you know what version you were using? I downloaded the latest version from there site (Version 1.2) and installed it. It comes up with that message and will not let me play after I click ok. Maybe there is something a little more involved? I am running an Axim X50v with WM5 ROM A01.
