I'm sure this has been addressed and I think I know the answer, but I need to ask anyway for clarity. Once we x50v peeps get the WM5 upgrade in the mail and make the switch, will it make a difference where we install everything (Flash ROM vs SD or CF)?
The only difference is you will no longer be able to install anything to Main Memory as that will not be powered 24/7 as it is now. Other then having less BIS space because WM5 is bigger then WM2003SE, there will be no other changes.

Hmmm... how will that affect things like today screen plug in's?
If they are for WM5 they should load up when you turn it on. There will still be power on the device. Ie, the you will not have to reset the clock everytime you turn it on. Just not like it works now where it is always in a "half powered" state.

Thanks :) I have already placed my order... and while I thought I'd wait for folks to report back on stuff... I doubt I'll be able to wait  Email says ship date of 9/26... I sure hope so :)
Just to be clear current x50 owners (as is stated in the first post) will only have about 60MB left over after WM5 is installed not 210. X51v people will have much more, somewhere around 190MB.

Thanks for your responses. I was worried about my today plug-ins because PP and PB both respond better for me in main memory rather than BIS, even though it's ok to install them in BIS. But I guess when they all become "WM5 compatible", I shouldn't have a problem.
The reason some things needed to be installed to BIS is that it takes a bit of time for Windows to initialize the BIS and other cards, and files can't be read off them until they are initialized. WM5 won't have that problem with BIS because it will be booting off of BIS and it will already be initialized.
Where is the BIS of X51?
I just got a new X51, and I did not see anywhere named Built-in Storage folder as X50, and I go to Setting->Memory->Storage Card, it says "Total Storage Card memory: Not Installed", which means this unit does not have BIS at all?
And also, Y2Dre mentioned the Flash ROM, how to put things into Flash ROM?

Read the book and other posts. There is NO BIS with WM5. Flash ROM is all you get to install applications. You put things into flash by installing programs.
Its just a naming exercise BIS has been "renamed" Storage when you install you have the options
My device = storage
SD card
CF Card
