Emulators, "I'm so confused!"

I searched on these forums for information about emulators and became so confused. My question is:

Is there a program I can install on my PC running Windos XP where I can then install Windows Mobile programs so as to "test" them before installing into my Axim X51v?

go check out microsoft web site, under windows mobile. You can down load emulator for wm5.

^^^ It will only work for apps compiled to x86 code, ie. generated by a WinCE development tool for debugging.

there is one that works for ARM binaries on beta.microsoft.com, but im not sure if a wm 05 image is available yet.
