FWD: WM5 one step forwards, two steps sidewards...??

i was browsing through another group that i am a member of...

http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/arti...ont_paginate,1

Aximsite people should check this out, especially those that are thinking of either getting a new x51v, or upgrading to WM5/x51v...

disclaimer: im not saying that im against WM5, in particular, but based on reviews before it actually came out (ie., my biggest gripe - no WiFi AS) - i truly wasnt looking forward to it....

however, it is my belief that the above-mentioned article may help in you making the right decision...

cheers!!!

Yeah I read that review a long time ago. Since it's a new product Dell has a few bugs to iron out, but everything I read made me even more excited to buy a X51v! cant wait :exc:

let me know how it turns on...

inspite of the lackluster reviews of WM5 and the x51v - im still eagerly awaiting the new developments, and new frontiers that are to happen...

I have both the X50v and the X51v and in my opinion, there is no compelling need to upgrade. The X50v has a better Bluetooth stack and pretty much the same functionality otherwise. I view WM 5 as being more "different" than "better". I give it a big yawn. If I didn't have either device, I'd probably get the 51 but otherwise WM 5 doesn't rate the hype given it by some reviewers. Pocket PC magazine hyped WM5 in two consecutive issues and they should be ashamed of themselves. Pocketpcthoughts.com got it right. If you have a X50v that works well and does what you want, enjoy because the X51v and/or WM5 upgrade doesn't provide much you can't get via software besides newness.

well... as some other threads would show - who needs PocketPC Mag if you have sites with a huge knowledge base, and great people like Aximsite (and PPCT)???
