Who's got a WM6.5 phone and what do you think of the OS?
I've got two different WM6.5 phones, the HP Glisten and the HTC Touch Diamond2, that I've been working with now for the last several weeks and I'm wondering what other users with this OS think of it?
At first I really liked it...it is pretty and the user interface is a refreshing change, but now that I've been living with it for a while, I'm starting to think it's actually a step back from WM6.1.... having to open up and sort (scroll) through the Start page every time I want to open an application or work with settings is getting old quick.
What do you think about it? What do you like and dislike?
I'll be going to the Microsoft MVP summit next week and I'd like to provide some useful feedback (that's not just my opinion) during some of the sessions there.

I've had a AT&T Tilt2 with WM6.5 for awhile now; however, I went from WM5 (X51V), so I do not have experience on my own machine with WM6.1.
Still, I have never been impressed with any of the OS launchers regardless of OS or platform. I have always run third party launchers.
Right now I am using UltimateLaunch primarily, with LaunchManager also available. I also currently have as one of the tabbed panel in UltimateLaunch several Today Plug-ins, one of which is the new Resco Explorer Today Plug-in, which also can have launch capabilities.
Another tabbed panel of UltimateLaunch is used for iLauncher, which has long been my primary program launcher.

I'll have to check out Ultimate Launcher - I've never heard of it. I would like to set things up to make it easier for me to use the things I want to use. I like the HTC Sense plugin on my Diamond, but would like an easy way to customize it. I know there are hacks for these things, but I really don't want to go through a lot of gyrations.
Does Ultimate Launcher slow things down? That's one of my complaints about SPB Shell...it's nice and customizeable, but eventually caused some performance problems on my Fuze.
And you know, there is no soft reset button on either the HP Glisten OR the HTC Diamond, so now I have to take the casing off and pull the battery to get a soft reset, although now I'm using the soft reset option in SKTools to do it most of the time.

UltimateLaunch seems speedy enough for me, although those 1GHz machines coming out...sigh...might change that feeling for me, at least with regards to my Tilt2. Anyway UL runs in trial mode indefinitely, albeit with annoying little text tags on the screen after awhile.
I know what you are saying about the soft reset button. It is under the back cover (although not under the battery) on the Tilt2, too. And most of the time when it is needed a software solution is ineffective as an alternative. I have considered drilling a hole in the case to make it accessible from the exterior.
TouchFlo would be OK if it were easily extensible.
Here's UL showing a Tab/Panel that has some icons to invoke some PocketInformant functions and the SBSH Clock Today Plug-in.
I have been using HTC HD2, and I love it..can't exactly comment on the OS since the sense UI is so well integrated with it, which makes it a wonderful handset to use

Agreed babureddy, but I find that some apps that're listed as compatable with the HD2 where they are sold on the net really can't run with the HD2 due to HTC's Sense UI and its Manila too.
One perfect example is SPB Mobileshell..The only I could make it work with the "stock" HD2 was with some tweaks to turn off the UI stuff when MS was running and I finally opted to install the present "barebones" OS that I presently use which turns the OS to just a basic WM 6.5xx without all the hooha and then all runs as advertised.
Another that comes to mind is Elecont Weather, where Handango lists it as compatable with HD2, but with the "stock" OS/UI/MANILA it wouldn't even run but it works just fine with the standard WM6.5xx and Mobile Shell.
I guess it is alot in what you prefer....The HTC SENSE/MANILA 2.5 on the HD2 does a fine job out of the box and there are lots of folks working magic over on XDA developers site, who are working wonders with that OS... too
Glad to hear you're enjoying the HD2!!
Take Care

Totally agree, I have just bought the HD2 also, had it for almost 2 weeks, love it, the Sense UI is great. Added a few tweaks (Co0kies Home Tab). Wont be going back to my iPhone any time soon.
