Isnt this an Axim?

I was browsing microsofts windows mobile site and i found this:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...s/default.mspx

If you look at the PDA side you can see a HP and the an Axim pop up. The Axim is in the List of PDAs so surely it will be updated to Windows Mobile 6.

Yes it is an Ax and if you look further it tells you it is an X51v with wm5.

Exclamation You are dreaming !!

Yeah it's a Dell X51v, but no, it does not mean Dell will upgrade the unit.

I would love to get WM6 on this unit, especially if it fixes some of the WM5 bugs.

But let's face reality here. Dell has admitted that they are exiting the PDA business, :waaa: and they will not produce another Axim, :waaa: and they don't want to go through another botched OS upgrade like the X50 WM5 fiasco, plus they already have our money.:exc:

Why would they offer a WM6 upgrade that might end up costing them money when they can simply offer their customers another MFG's PDA?

Let's face it, the X50 WM5 Upgrade failure had to leave them gun-shy about trying anything like it again.

Hey, I could be wrong, and would love to find out that I am wrong! But I think the Axim X50/X51 series ends with WM5.

I am here to tell you... please don't get hopes up on Dell getting us WM6 Updates. I seriously have doubts that they will. this is not based on information learned this is based on my own opinion.

Just because the device is in the picture does not mean that it will be updated to WM6.

Our company website (I won't name it here) displays an item that is being shown as being for sale for the last year. In actual truth we haven't even done any R&D on it - yet they insist on displaying it because it makes the website look "cool".
