It may not be up to Dell as to whether we get an upgrade to WM6. Since HTC manufactures the Axim & not Dell. Dell simply sells & supports the finished product. Dell would have to receive the upgrades from HTC for a price & they are not going to offer upgrades to products currently in production.

Umm, not very accurate, Dell can issue any update, rom or patch, regardless of HTC, for any Axim...

That may be true but if HTC is not going to offer the upgrade I doubt Dell is going pony up.

Yesterday, I chated with a dell product rep. and she gave me the " Dell is not telling if or when it will roll out an update to WM6" crap and the "Dell has to work with Microsoft to make an update" crap. I guess that Dell will make a WM6 update, but the "when" is unknown.

Jadesse don't let that article milk you, there are a few WM5 HTC products receiving the WM6 update.
Though the're abit newer it still contradicts the article...

I think that the HTC products use a different architecture then the Axim even thought they are manufactured by the same company.

    

Given that Dell doesn't even bother to release a good Bluetooth implementation, the odds of WM6 on the 51v is somewhat low I'd suspect.

Apparently acorrding to sites WM6 is currently being tested on the X51v but no one knows if it will be an update im just hoping a nice guy in dell leaks it lol never happen though as the Universal Rom got leaked so dell will be so careful so it isnt leaked. If dell decide to release the upgrade it will be a nice suprise and making there Axims go out with a bang. Ive never owned a Dell PC so im not sure how good they are with the updates etc. if there good for them then i dont see why they shouldnt release the update for WM6. The bluetooths good on my X51 mid and fast as its a 1.2 bluetooth device! i dunno about the range though as when i send stuff its usally close to me.

Some of the latest HTC products are nice and they run WM6. Like your all saying about vista having bugs WM6 has only been released like 2 weeks ago so knowing microsoft it will be pretty buggy for another month or two. Not like RC1 and RC2 vista that helped microsoft with the bugs in vista.

I wonder If the Dell Axim x50v is upgrdable to WM6. Can anyone tell me sth about this?

Very unlikely, because of hardware differences. Not to mention few PDAs get more than 1 major update.
WM2003SE > WM5 A02 would be considered the X50 series' major update.
