Windows Mobile 6 is running on Axim X51v!:its just a joke.
EDIT!: ĄTHIS IS FAKE NOT REAL! I DID THIS FOR AN APRIL 1 JOKE. SORRY FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THOUGHT SOMETHING POSTED ON APRIL 1 WAS CREDIBLE.
original post:
here is some pictures of WM6 running on Axim X51v! some people have hacked the WM6 rom to work with the X51v. I tried it and almost all my programs are compatible with it! works great! love all the new features!
here is the tutorial: took it off so all my banwidth wouldn't get used up.
Enjoy.

Flashing a rom with an executable file that's less than 500Kb? C'mon folks.

Wow! It was only a matter of time until someone made a WM6 upgrade for the axim. Does this upgrade work only on the X51v or can it work on the X51 (low or mid) or (possibly) the X50 series. Also for those who try it, what happens if the upgrade fails and we brick our axims? You should provide a backup rom image (somewhere on the net) that we can flash if our axim gets bricked.

Someone want to take the plunge and try it? Once you try it, please post the results on whether this works or not.

What an impressive compress! That guy can pack the new WM6 in only several hundreds of KBs? Doubt that I'm gonna brick my X51v with this.

May be a April Fools but I scanned the files and at least they are virus free. I'm going to wait for someone else to verify this but since it does not involve flashing the ROM a hard reset should restore the machine. Maybe someone who is braver than me wants to do a backup and then try it out?
BTW - if this is for real the files will probably not be there for long. MS has clamped down on the WM6 ROMS that were being passed around for smart phones and they will probably do the same here.

Yo, I really wanted to try it out on my Dell Axim X50v running WM5 AKU 2.3, but i don't get how this remote connection works.
You see i succesfully copied the "wm6x51vhack-ppc.exe" to my pda, and clicking on it opened up the Haret Version,... software tool, where according to that tutorial i need to press "listen for network connections" while my pda is connected to my PC via activesync. But then when i run the "wm6x51vhack-pc.exe" on my pc, it seems in less than a second to install WM6, but not on my PDA. My PDA is not affected at all! I think that it's this remote connection that doesn't work. So, please, can somebody help me? (Maybe give me a more detailed tutorial on how to install it.)

Is this just a skinning exercise to make WM5 look like 6 or this more like installing XP SP2 was so if you hard reset and want it back you have to re-install?
